Size Does Matter
Ready-made drapes come in a limited range of sizes. You measured your window and looking at the options on the shelf at the big box store leaves you between a rock and a hard place. Do you want your curtains to be too short, or do you want to go with the next longer size and have to pay someone to hem them? Construction Quality
Custom Drapes are individually crafted just for you. They are made of high-quality products and are subjected to rigorous quality standards. The ready-made products are mass-produced overseas with almost non-existent quality controls. So those three identical packages you purchased may not really be identical. The lengths and widths of the panels have been inconsistent. The factory hems are important. A good quality hem should be double folded and at least 4” for the bottom and 1.5” for the sides. Not to mention the stitching - no thread sticking out, no need to worry that if for some reason your hem thread breaks the entire drape will unravel, or get those weird pull-lines. Having quality drapes matters if you want them to last a very long time.

Liners
The quality of liners on custom drapes is far superior to the ready-made variety. Ready-made liners are made of cheap materials that can pucker, shrink, or stretch out of shape over time. You also have a greater choice of materials for your liner so you can pick something that perfectly complements the unique fabric you chose for the drapes.
