Heart & Home
Heart&Home pursuits included awarding a franchise business worth over $100,000 to a veteran. We partnered with Working Wardrobes to provide job training, placement and wardrobe services to give those in need the chance to take their place in the workforce. Home Franchise Concepts (HFC), parent company of Budget Blinds, has organized food and clothing drives, been involved with Wounded Warriors Canada and Homes for Our Troops.
Homes For Our Troops
Budget Blinds, in partnership with Springs Window Fashions, are proud to be the official window coverings supplier for Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build and donate specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans to enable them to rebuild their lives. Through this partnership we provide custom window coverings and measuring and installation services in every home HFOT builds.
Wounded Warriors Canada
Budget Blinds, in partnership with Springs Window Fashions, are proud to support Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC), a privately funded military charity whose mission is to honour and support Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their families. Through this partnership, we are able to donate funds to support their diverse slate of mental health programs and services for Veterans.
Give Me $5 is part of a comprehensive Working Wardrobes program: it starts with six-weeks of job training; resume writing, interviewing skills, and job application completion, as well as learning how to speak about previous issues in an interview situation. This six-week commitment is followed by a "Day of Self-Esteem," when participants get new business attire, professional grooming, and a new lease on their worth in the world. That's when "Give Me $5" kicks in, providing funds for travel to training and interviews. Your commitment of $5 a month or more for gas or public transport will make a critical difference.
