We are the owners and design consultants for Budget Blinds of Ottawa East and of Ottawa West and Nepean. We spent the last 20 years of our lives working with International Schools overseas. We worked in many countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bolivia, Peru, Oman, and Ivory Coast. It was an excellent life and we carry with us many wonderful memories. However, we always shared two dreams. The first one was of someday coming back to Canada to set some roots for our children Kaleigh and Rafael, and give them the opportunity to finish high school in Ottawa. The second dream was to own our own business.
Once we were settled in Ottawa and in our new house, we needed blinds, so we contacted several companies and all of them were very busy and couldn’t come and visit us for two to three weeks. The quotes we received shocked us! Then, one day Peter was driving around Ottawa and he saw a Budget Blinds van. He took a photo of the van to get the telephone number, called them, and was more than pleased with the professionalism and quoted price.
That left us thinking about that particular franchise. We contacted Budget Blinds headquarters and from that moment on, the information they provided convinced us more and more that this was the business we wanted. We started talking with franchisees and they only had great things to say about the franchise and the business itself.
This was an opportunity we could not pass up! So, we bought Budget Blinds of Ottawa in September 2020 and started to be part of this wonderful experience with the #1 window coverings franchise in North America.
