Why Budget Blinds of Athens

Chad Dominey is the Owner of Budget Blinds of Athens. He specializes in hard coverings, such as blinds and shutters, and in solar/roller shades, which are ideal for porches, sunrooms and commercial spaces! 

We are so grateful to have had our exceptional Sales Manager, Brad, on our team since 2019! In his role, Brad leads and collaborates with our Sales Consultants, implements and works with new products and vendors, assists with marketing and advertising, and leads the outdoor/exterior division of Budget Blinds. Originally from Augusta, Brad graduated from Georgia College and spent 12 years in sales and management, where he acquired valuable experience in meeting customer needs, finding solutions, and creating value for clients. Above all aspects of his role, Brad enjoys working closely with our amazing team and clients. His favorite window treatment projects involve exterior shades– he loves the functionality they provide for homeowners, seamlessly adjusting between an enclosed space and an open-aired porch. Outside of work, you can find Brad spending time with his wife, Jessica, and their twin boys, traveling, golfing, and watching sports (Go Dawgs!) Brad can’t wait to work with you to find your dream window treatments!

Our Budget Blinds team wouldn’t be complete without our fantastic Design Consultant, Stephanie! Originally from East Cobb, Stephanie attended school at the University of Georgia and has called the Athens area home ever since. In her role, Stephanie helps clients design custom interior and exterior window treatments based on their aesthetic and functional needs. Drapery projects are her specialty! Her favorite part of her role is building client relationships, especially seeing how happy they are with the final results. Although drapes and woven wood shades are her classic favorite window treatments, she’s also been loving her new motorized roller shades! When she’s not helping clients upgrade their homes, you can find Stephanie working out, enjoying book club, playing Mahjong, going to church, shopping, or spending time with her family– especially her three amazing grandsons!

We are so lucky to have our amazing Design Consultant Caden on our Budget Blinds of Athens & Lake Oconee team. Caden has been assisting clients in navigating and measuring window treatments that would best fit their needs since 2022. Originally from Duluth, Caden graduated from the University of Georgia, leading him to call Athens home. Caden has always had a love for people and helping to meet their needs, so naturally his favorite part of his role is meeting and interacting with different people every day. He strives to make the client experience enjoyable and worry-free from start to finish, while prioritizing their needs. While Caden will guide you throughout all of our window treatment offerings, his favorite ones are roller shades and plantation shutters. He loves the sleek, simple appearance of roller shades and their ability to disappear when unneeded, and the timeless elegant look of plantation shutters and their ability to transform any room that they are in. Whether it’s running, golfing, hunting, or fishing, outside of work you can find Caden outdoors. He also loves spending time and traveling with his wife Callie. Caden can’t wait to help you elevate your home!

We are so lucky to have Megan as our Senior Design Consultant! Born and raised in Athens, Megan began working for her family’s business at an early age, where she was introduced to design, construction, and real estate. She prides herself on being an attentive listener, which helps her guide clients toward window treatments that complement their space and reflect their personal style. Megan specializes in soft treatments including drapes, Roman shades, and woven wood shades. She loves working with these different textures to create a functional and inviting environment. By combining thoughtful communication with creative solutions, Megan hopes to make your home projects enjoyable! Outside of work, you might find Megan antiquing or hiking– enjoying the stunning outdoors around Athens and Lake Oconee. She can’t wait to help you bring your vision to life!

Our day-to-day operations wouldn’t run nearly as smoothly without our stellar Front Office Manager, Blaise! Born in Steel City, Blaise has been handling billing, accounts receivable, customer service, and human resources matters with Budget Blinds since being recruited by his good friend Brad in 2024. Blaise’s background as an Allstate Insurance Agent owner prepared him to understand the goals of a small business and how to execute operations in an HR role. While Blaise enjoys several parts of his job, he really loves encouraging his team to grow professionally and strive for excellence. When you visit our showroom, be sure to ask Blaise about his favorite window treatment– plantation shutters! He loves how elegant and timeless they are. Some of Blaise’s favorite activities include pickleball, golfing, playing card games, and staying active through exercise. Be sure to say “hello” when you stop by our showroom!

Meet Zoe, our awesome Front Office Assistant! Originally from Watkinsville, Zoe has been scheduling appointments, answering client questions, assisting the design consultant and warehouse teams, and keeping the showroom pretty since 2024. Her parent’s experience with home renovation combined with her adaptability and problem-solving skills have led Zoe to excel in her role! She enjoys being a part of this team because of the family-oriented environment, and the uplifting, fun experience that Budget Blinds has to offer. When you visit the showroom, be sure to ask Zoe about her favorite window treatments– drapery! She’s always excited to see how beautiful the final results of drapery installations are. Some of Zoe’s favorite things are reading, baking, and spending time with her family! There’s nothing like a cozy book and a fresh baked goodie.

Our Budget Blinds team wouldn’t run nearly as smoothly without our wonderful Director of Operations, Jimmy! Originally from Auburn, Jimmy relocated 40 minutes southeast to Bishop, which he is now proud to call home. Since Jimmy joined our team in 2020, he has monitored scheduling and ordering, while helping with anything else that may be needed. Jimmy’s problem-solving, communication and handyman skills have helped him succeed in these tasks. While he enjoys many aspects of his role, Jimmy enjoys problem-solving and working with people the most. When you visit our showroom, be sure to ask Jimmy about his favorite window treatment– Sunpro exterior shades. He loves the outdoors, so naturally exterior treatments are his favorites! Outside of his role, you can find Jimmy racing dirt bikes, riding mountain bikes and road bikes, or spending time with his wife and family. When you stop by the showroom, be sure to say hi to Jimmy!

We couldn’t be more grateful to have Chad as our wonderful Operations Manager! Born and raised in Athens, Chad originally worked for our sister company Inspired Closets, where he later transitioned into his operations manager role here at Budget Blinds. Chad brings excellent organization and people skills to his role, which allows him to successfully manage our installers, product ordering, and scheduling installations. He especially loves seeing how happy the clients are with their finished product. If you ask Chad about his favorite window treatments, he’ll tell you about Lutron automated shades or Sunpro exterior shades. He appreciates Lutron for their unmatched quality and versatility, while he loves Sunpro for their ability to create a flexible indoor-outdoor space. Outside of Budget Blinds, you can find Chad hunting, fishing, or golfing, and spending time with his lovely wife and daughter.

We couldn’t be more grateful to have Stephen as one of our awesome installers on our Budget Blinds of Athens & Lake Oconee team! Originally from Newnan, GA, Stephen moved to Madison in the beginning of 2025. Prior to joining our team, Stephen served in the army and developed construction knowledge from working with his elders as a kid. With his background, enjoying working with his hands and being active is naturally Stephen’s favorite part of his role- he is task-oriented and enjoys seeing a project run from start to finish. Along with this, Stephen loves interacting with clients and seeing them enjoy their new window treatments. If you ask Stephen about his favorite window treatment, he’ll tell you about Lutron motorized shades. Outside of work, you can find Stephen hunting, fishing, golfing, or watching college football. Stephen can’t wait to help you on your next home project!

As one of our stellar installers, Jake provides high quality installations with a focus on customer satisfaction. Originally from Dacula, Jake enjoyed taking shop classes to develop experience with the tools and machinery he uses every day, along with safety training that has significantly helped him in this role. While Jake loves many aspects of his role, his favorite part is noticing the difference that the installation made in his client’s home and the smile on their face. While Jake loves various types of window treatments, his favorite is the Light Guard 360 roller shades from Norman for their 100% light blockage capabilities. When he’s not helping clients install their next home project, you can find Jake playing video games, playing guitar, or watching stand-up comedy. Jake can’t wait to help build your dream home!

Our Budget Blinds of Athens & Lake Oconee team wouldn’t be complete without our talented installer Tom! Prior to joining our team in 2021, Tom had traded Arkansas for Athens, where he graduated from the University of Georgia and carried valuable experience as a residential and commercial contractor. Tom’s outstanding organization skills, handyman capabilities, and problem-solving skills have helped him to be successful in his role.
