Outdoor Shades, Shade Sails and More, Four Ways to Upgrade Your Space

With the temperatures dropping and the incredible triple digit heat driving us back inside, we are finding ourselves spending more and more time outside! Now, as we all know, heat isn’t the only concern about outside living spaces, there’s also that big, fiery ball in the sky to deal with! This time on the Budget Blinds of Tempe and Central Phoenix blog, we want to look at some styles and ways to use outdoor shades and other means, to maximize comfort!

Four Ways To Upgrade Your Outdoor Space

  1. Use Bamboo Shades

bamboo shades

Have a patio space attached to the back of your home? Using the existing wall and roof, you can easily install bamboo shades that run from ceiling to floor. The eco-friendly and durable bamboo makes for a quality material to block out that pesky sun when you need it most and will stand up to the temperature, and any possible inclement weather (not that we have much to worry about in Tempe and Phoenix). When the sun starts setting or you want to enjoy a breakfast at sunrise, bamboo blinds are easily raised or lowered as you please. These are an easy and affordable option to upgrade your outdoors.

But maybe you’re looking for something… bigger. Well read on, and we will cover a few more options for some serious outdoor upgrades.

  1. Awesome Awnings

If your yard or outdoor space doesn’t have any shade at all , than the first thing you will look to do is get a covering of some kind. To that end you could look at installing an awesome awning! There are many different types of awnings out there, colorful patterns of bright blue or orange, or updated awnings that use new materials, not like the old tin roofs of the past. These can create a larger area for shade for your home, and be incredibly stylish.

  1. Outdoor Shade Sails

For some, the outdoor area they want to spend their time isn’t attached to the back end of their home. Sound familiar? Maybe you have a nice garden with a table and chairs in the center, or a place to work on your fall craft projects, study, or a pool you want to spend your time in - if only the water wasn’t boiling when you stepped in! A shade sail is a large piece of fabric, made of a durable material in any of a range of different shapes that can be installed in a number of ways, to provide a great deal of shade. You can hook it to trees, the corner of your home, or even get posts installed especially for the shade sail.

  1. Create Shade ‘Walls’

Following on the first idea, if you take outdoor shades to every side of your patio, you can create an entirely new room! Outdoor shades are an incredible way to change your space. They can be used to create new, movable ‘walls’ changing it from a slab of concrete to a new ‘outdoor room.’ With coverage on each side, you have total control over the amount of light and shade you want at any time.

Providing better shading options for your outdoor space doesn’t  just help the patio either! It helps to limit and control the amount of sunlight beating down on your back door and windows as well! With more barriers between the walls and glass of your home and the Sun, the less light and the less heat that will transfer into your home. Two birds, one outdoor shade!

At Budget Blinds of Tempe and Central Phoenix, we want our neighbors to be proud of their homes and to love spending time in and outside them.
