Goblet Pleat Bishop Sleeves
Dining Room
Dinner is served in this elegant Menomonee Falls dining room! The corner windows were framed with lucious bishop sleeve panels in a timeless brocade pattern by Fabricut. Bishop sleeves are a nice variation to the popular look of stationary side panels and bring additonal softness to the room.

Dual Roller Shades in an Optical Center
Commercial
This west side Milwaukee optical center had some unique challenges. Because of its location, the showroom was wrapped with large unobstructed southern and western facing windows which created tremendous heat and glare issues. The screen shades seemed like an obvious choice however the doctor and owner of the optical center was concerned at certain times of the day, the screen shades would not offer enough glare relief for her patients with dilated eyes. Our solution was to recommend dual roller shades. The doctor is extremely pleased with the results using the screen shades for 85% of the day and lowering the darkening shades during the brightest time of the day. The look is stunning!

Seamless Textured Ripplefold Sheers

Illusion Shades
Living Room
Illusions shades gives you the light control of a horizontal blind in a roller shade form. Instead of tilting the slats you roll the shade for the desired amount of light you want coming through. Continue rolling the shade and you have complete privacy. Roll the shade in the opposite direction and the shade disappears into the headrail so you can have a complete view from your window.

Ripplefold Draperies With Screen Roller Shades
Bedroom
Single men love great design too! Not unusual for us...this repeat customer had no idea what he wanted. We used our design skills and went to town and gave him a true gentlemen's bedroom. The dripping satin draperies add a touch of elegance, soften the trendy screen shades with fascias and offer a good nights sleep to boot. All he needs now is a valet!
-

Wood Blinds on French Windows
Living Room
Honestly...the customer was a bit skeptical when we suggested Signature Series wood blinds for the master bedroom windows in their Wauwatosa tudor. Upon installation, they couldn't have been happier with the result! As you can see, these wood blinds are perfect functionally and aesthically on these french windows common to so many houses in Wauwatosa, Shorewood and the east side of Milwaukee. Since the blinds are attached to the hinged window, they move with the window when it is opened maintaining the possibility of unobstructed ventilation. Wood blinds are also quite effective room darkening products making them a great choice for rooms with light issues.

Interlined Custom Grommet Panels
Living Room
Patterns and more patterns posed bit of a design challenge in this cozy living room. A closely set pair of front windows added to the challenge to provide these Menomonee Falls customers with the custom draperies they so desperately wanted in this room. We did a bit of a search and settled upon a trendy Clarke & Clarke fabric that coordinated nicely with their upholstery pattern ensemble already in place. We suggested grommet panels for the drapery style because of their tighter stack in tight quarters. We interlined the panels to give them a more luxurious look. The panels paired beaurtifully with the Signature Series cordless top down bottom up cellular shades we previously provided.
-
Purple Anyone??
Living Room
This Wauwatosa customer loves her color! We are now working with her in her THIRD home. These lovely ripplefold draperies were just the ticket to pull her colorful ecclectic decor together. We suggested a lovely Robert Allen embroidered lattice fabric in a cheerful grape, putty and ivory pallet. Even her husband was impressed with the results!
-
Screen Roller Shade With Metal Fascia
Home Gym
What say "gym" more than black and stainless steel? That was our suggestion to complete the look of this home gym. We used 3% screen material complimented with brushed aluminum fascias in this remodeled lower level. The customer was equally thrilled with this suggestion as she was with the others we made over the course of her two year renovation of this classic Wauwatosa beauty!

Top Down Bottom Up Roman Shades
Living Room
People are often surprised to find out that roman shades are available with the very popular top down / bottom up option. As you can see here, these lovely fabric roman shades are not only beautiful but also very functional. The creamy beige dobby weave fabric really shows off the beautiful wide woodwork of this historic upper east side Milwaukee home.
-
Painted Wood Shutters
Bedroom
Wood shutters are the rave! No muss...no fuss. They work by themselves (as shown) or paired with draperies or valances. These Menomonee Falls homeowners were delighted to find out the clunky tilt bar common to many shutters is not necessary when you order the hidden tilt feature available on our Signature Series wood shutters. They were even more delighted when we told them all of the wood used to manufacture the shutters is grown right here in the U.S.
-
Stained Shutters
Guest Room
This "add on" room was badly in need of a facelift. Previous owners of this Wauwatosa home neglected some finishing touches such as wood trim when they added this additional room some years ago. These repeat customers were elated when we showed them how they could elevate the look of this room with Signature Series stained wood shutters with a deco molding. This collection of deco moldings was developed specifically for situations like this where there is no wood trim. Using a deco molding creates the effect of fine wood trim and just gives a room that extra exclamation point!
-
Cordless Relaxed Roman Shade
Bathroom
The freshly remodeled master bath needed a finishing touch for its unusual dormer window. For this stately Shorewood home, we suggested a Horizons cordless relaxed roman shade in a simple, creamy beige fabric. The simplicity and clean lines of the shade provided some distinction without distracting from the intricate tile and stone work on the walls and floor.
-
Pleated Cafe Curtains
Office
The owner of this new Germantown home asked, "Do you still make old fashioned cafe curtains?" We replied, "We can do anything!" While this style is not nearly as popular as it once was, it was the look the home owner wanted for her personal home office. The curtains were a nice compliment for the Signature Series painted wood blinds used as an under treatment.
-
Box Pleated Valance on a Bay
Dining Room
This box pleated valance is a nice solution to unify a room with a walk out bay. Generally, there is a collection of different sized windows that are placed on the various walls which create a choppy effect. Such is the case in this Menomonee Falls dinette. We suggested a continuous board mounted valance that helps one's eyes to fill in the spaces between the windows which eliminate that choppy look. This splashy contemporary print by Kasmir was just what the customer dreamed about.
-
Cordless Flat Roman Shade
Kid's Room
Have a kid's room that needs a little pizzazz? That was the issue at hand in this Whitefish Bay home. The three year old boy was heavily into pirates and ships and this basket weave pattern lent itself well to pair well with a lot of the current accessories in the room. The pattern is not so distinctive that it will not "grow" with the child. The child's mom could not have been happier with the results...especially with the cordless feature that she was not aware was available on roman shades.
-
Stained Wood Shutters With Painted Trim
Office
A question we are often asked is if someone can mix stained and painted finishes on the same window. The answer is definitely "yes!" While it is a less common preference to mix stained and painted finishes, you can see it works well on this office window this Menomonee Falls home. Mixing the finishes create more of a picture framing effect which can add more accent and drama to a room.

Cornice Boards in a Student Center
Student Center
What can't we do? We can even provide products that match school colors as shown here on the cornice boards in the student center at a local college. The college asked us to match their very unusual green...and we did it! They were elated!
-
Light Filtering Roller Shades
Bedroom
We are often asked by our downtown Milwaukee customers, "What can I do on my large windows?" This is an example of our "go to" product for large windows. It is a roller shade fabricated with a light filtering fabric. This type of fabric tames the sun which is often a problem for urban dwellers but doesn't make the room dark and gloomy. As you can see, this Third Ward loft is anything but dark and gloomy...just soft and warm!
-
Tapered Box Pleated Valance With Panels
Living Room
This simple, but effective window treatment was just what the customer wanted to finish off her newly redecorated family room. The gentle curve of the tailored valance softens the look. The embroidered vine motif of the fabric gives some visual interest without appearing busy and distracting.
-
Luminette With Cornice Board
Dining Room
Conservative elegance is a good way to describe the ensemble in this dining area in a Germantown home. The versatile Hunter Douglas Luminette is a great dressy option for a patio door and the simple cornice board is a nice way to finish the look. The customer was very pleased with the results and called us again to complete the rest of her home.
-

Wood Shutters With Open Transom
Living Room
Many of today's homes are featuring clad windows with transoms. Clad windows can prove to be a challenge for mounting window treatments when a customer wants to keep the transoms open because their is not a secure place to mount products. Such was the case in this newly constructed Menomonee Falls home. Budget Blinds to the rescue! We have several companies that offer paladian shelves which create a mounting surface between the windows and transoms that is not found on clad windows. Use of a paladian shelf allowed us to install these Signature Series wood shutters with 3 1/2" louvers and still keep the transoms open for additional light. The customer was thrilled with the results
-
Cartridge Pleat Side Panels
Living Room
We had a tough order to fill in this Menomonee Falls home. As we often are, we were asked to tie together all the things the customer had previously assembled into a cohesive interior scheme. The majority of the first floor was covered in a Brazilian slate and timber floor laid in a lattice pattern. A stunning floor...but very active. There were multiple colored wall colors and a few assorted patterns on fabric pieces. The customer was thrilled with the washed print that we found that featured all of her colors and fit with the mildly exotic feel of her home without competing. We kept the design of the side panels sleek and simple with the use of cartridge pleats.
-
Screen Roller Shades
Living Room
The owner of this home wanted to maintain the open and airy feel of this mid century beauty in Wauwatosa. We suggested these very simple neutral screen roller shades. While daylight was not a huge issue with this corner window, the customer wanted to create a little screening effect because she didn't want to feel on display living on a corner lot. She LOVES her shades! As she said, "They did the trick!"
-
Large Motorized Screen Roller Shade
Living Room
WHOA!?! Did you say you need a large roller shade? Not a problem...we can handle that! Many of the condos in downtown Milwaukee feature windows like this. With a touch of a button, this Signature Series roller shade rolls up and down with a whisper quiet motor to address the changing light and heat conditions that come with windows of this size.
-
Screen Shades
Living Room
Would you give up this million dollar view to protect your valuable artwork? The customer selected from our new Phifer Sheerweave 5000 fabric collection which offers a bit of style and texture that you don't normally find in a screen shade. Notice the shades are reverse roll which keeps the look trim and less obtrusive.
-
Motorized Screen Roller Shade
Living Room
There are many wonderful features of motorized screen roller shades. Besides reducing glare, heat and UV rays while not covering your outside view, these shades are available in very large sizes. These Germantown home owners were so thrilled with the results in their living room, they immediately placed an order the same shades for their large sunroom. They couldn't be happier that they can now keep the negative impact of the outdoors under control with a touch of a button. Now that's convenience!
-
Jazzy Roman Shade
Living Space
We have worked with this customer many times before. She is always fun to work with because she likes things that are bright and unique. This time was no different. She asked for something with a little "pop" to brighten up her small Shorewood kitchen. We suggested this bright geometric print fabric from Kasmir and had it made into a Horizons flat roman shade. We specified a continuous cord loop to raise and lower the shade because of the size and because it was hard to reach. Wouldn't you be as delighted as she was??
-
Roller Shades With Euro Pleat Side Panels
Dining Room
Many times a customer will say to us, "I just want my window treatments to disappear on the window." We can do that! This customer had that request which was made more challenging because like so many Wauwatosa, Shorewood and Whitefish Bay homes, her home features French windows. Their hinged operation generally requires an outside mount which often is more obtrusive than an inside mount. If you look very carefully, you will see there are Horizons cassette roller shades mounted on the trim. When the shades are rolled up, they do not distract from the draperies. The customer was thrilled with the results!
-
3% Screen Roller Shades
Living Room
Who says you have to give up your view to protect your furnishings from damaging UV rays? People are often surprised by how well the view is preserved even when looking through a fairly dense screen shade material as on these Signature Series clutch roller shades. As you can see, our customer did not want to sacrifice the view from his east side Milwaukee condo.
-
Cordless Flat Roman Shade
Home Office
When the customer led us into her home office, she offered this warning, "I don't know what you are going to do with this place" referring to the montage of colors and patterns she already had. Not to worry, we had the perfect fabric in our vast fabric library to fabricate this lovely cordless roman shade (along with others in the room) by Horizons Window Fashions. When the Whitefish Bay home owner saw the final result, all she could do was stand back and admire the look.
-
Cornice Boards
Living Room
This ensemble in a renovated Germantown home is the end result of a collaboration we had with a designer at a local furniture store. We suggested the bold geometric cornices to add some pop to a very monochromatic room. The sheen of the faux silk panels create some contrast to the matte finish on the upholstered pieces. Functional Horizons screen roller shades with easy stop feature tuck nicely behind the cornices but are handy when the afternoon sun bathes this west facing room. We think it turned out pretty nice. How 'bout you?
-
Wood Blinds
Living Room
When we arrived at this Bayview home, the beautiful windows were buried in old dilapidated draperies and rods that were literally falling off the wall. The new home owner could not wait to get the draperies down to see what was hiding behind them. They welcomed our suggestion of Signature Series 2" wood blinds to compliment the home's wide woodwork and historical architecture. When the customers saw their new look, all they could say was, "Can't thank you enough!"
-
Faux Wood Blinds
Dining Area at the Milwaukee Ronald McDonald House
The whole Milwaukee Ronald Mc Donald house is outfitted in our Signature Series faux wood blinds. As you can see, they do a wonderful job of creating a warm, inviting atmosphere as shown in one of the dining rooms. These blinds are perfect for any home, business or hospitality facility.
-
Shutters with Split Tilt
Living Room
We pride ourselves in giving our customers everything their hearts desire. Such is the case for these Wauwatosa home owners. They shared that they had a real problem with all the walkers in their neighborhood gawking at them through their nearly floor to ceiling front window. They knew they wanted shutters but was unaware the louvers were available with a "split tilt" which allows sections of the louvers to be opened separately from the other. Our Signature Series wood shutters offer that option. The customers were delighted...even more so when we told them their shutters could be painted in a custom color to match their newly painted woodwork.
-
Illusion Shades
-
Pleated Drapes
Living Room
This was quite a design challenge with a stunning end result! Our Menomonee Falls customer was looking for a luxurious finishing touch for her "room of many patterns." While the first impulse might be to go for a solid drapery, the customer specifically requested a pattern. So the hunt was on to find just the right one that didn't fight with the patterns she had and tied everything together. The result was this lovely embroidered linen which was fabricated into these lush interlined panels. (Interlining adds an additional layer of flannel type drapery lining which adds body and gives the draperies a more professional look.) See for yourself!
-
Roller Shade
Kitchen
Got a wide window? No problem! We offer many solutions for wide windows such as this Signature Series clutch roller shade recently installed in this new Menomonee Falls home. The young home owners were "all about" contemporary, streamline products. They were delighted we could manage this wide window with one shade eliminating breaks that normally occur with multiple shades.
-
Panel Track
Dining Room
Plain. Sleek. Simple. White. Functional. That's exactly what this Menomonee Falls home owner got with this Signature Series Panel Track. Panel tracks continue to increase in popularity as an alternative to vertical blinds which many people today consider as being "old fashioned."
-
Skylight Shade
Ceiling
Skylights...people seem to love them and hate them all at the same time! Skylights bathe a room with natural light but at the same time, it can be too much light especially if you are using electronics or trying to sleep. In addition to that, skylights allow a lot of heat to enter a room and can be like a great big hole in your ceiling with heat loss in the winter. Our Signature series skylight shades make all your problems go away. This room darkening shade in a child's room can be closed eliminating the light so he can nap. The light filtering cellular fabric is also available which reduces the glare and controls heat gain and loss. Sounds like a "win win!"
