One of the wonderful things about Thanksgiving is that it is simply a time to be grateful and thankful. To spend time with family and friends sharing a meal together. Unlike some of the more elaborately decorated holidays, Thanksgiving is simple, using items from the Fall season and all the natural elements around you like leaves, branches, pine cones, and pumpkins to decorate your home.
Wondering how and what to use for your Thanksgiving table décor?
We reached out to a couple of our BB Influencers and Designers for some tips and inspiration. They recommend the following:
1) Choose a neutral natural color palette that coordinates with your home
2) Select containers, vases, and pitchers in interesting shapes and varying heights
3) Gather natural branches or purchase fall leafed branches
4) Find leaves, acorns, pinecones, and other natural elements
5) Add additional texture with woven placemats, a table runner, or textured plate chargers
6) Use cloth napkins to add softness, pattern, and color
7) Select candlesticks that you already have
8) Dress up your everyday dishes by styling your napkins with rings or tie with twine.
Our first table setting is from Living with Landyn. The great thing about Landyn is, she knows who she is and her style reflects that. Check out her stylish Thanksgiving tablescape using items she already had plus some inexpensive updates. The color palette is neutral, she used some amazing containers filled with simple branches, added texture with the cloth napkins and dried fruit, used candlesticks she had, and dressed up her white plates with painted charges. She gives you all the details here.
The tablescape flows with the style of Landyn’s home and is natural, warm, and inviting just like Landyn herself! Her neutral, natural style is also reflected in her woven shades and soft drapery panels from Budget Blinds. Landyn loved that her local Budget Blinds design consultant brought the samples to her home so she could coordinate them with her flooring. The end result is beautiful and adds the perfect backdrop to her Thanksgiving table setting!
Our next Thanksgiving table is from a charming Budget Blinds customer whose grandchildren happen to be interior designers. Her Thanksgiving table and dining room are mixed with items she has collected and added from their design studio HHC Living. It is simply elegant in beautiful neutral tones accented by the amazing light fixture!! Her style is transitional with a touch of modernity. Gloria’s Thanksgiving table décor is simply elegant with its layering of carefully selected elements. The fall branches scattered underneath the pumpkins layered at different heights on unique and artistic dishware. Plus, the beautiful mix of pattern and texture of the plates and charger.
Additionally, the dual sheer shade in the perfect color to match her walls allows for the perfect amount of light to make her dining room sparkle. Selected by her design grads who have worked with their local Budget Blinds for many years, the style of the shade coordinates with the décor of her home. Even better the shade is motorized, allowing our hostess, Gloria, to adjust it with the touch of a button! Having the handheld remote nearby she can enjoy her guests and adjust the shade conveniently, without even leaving the table or interrupting the meal.
Both of the tables we shared are simply stylish, minimal, and modern leaving plenty of room for the turkey and all the trimmings. And don’t forget the desserts! Need an idea for a quick, easy, and delicious Thanksgiving dessert? Landyn has you covered there too with her Pumpkin Dream Cake. Easy to make and perfect for Thanksgiving morning, after your meal, or even with leftovers.
Now it is your turn to gather up fall items and decor you already have on hand to layer on your table for the perfect Thanksgiving style.
At this time of year, we hope you enjoy good food and fellowship with family and friends. We are thankful for each of you! From all of us at Budget Blinds, Happy Thanksgiving!
